About

Linebaugh Public Library is the main branch of the Rutherford County Library System (RCLS) and was founded in 1948, through a donation by Henry T. Linebaugh, asking that the library be named after his mother. Now seventy years plus years later, Linebaugh is one of five branches and a Bookmobile serving the Greater Rutherford County community. RCLS receives funding from three cities (Eagleville, Murfreesboro, and Smyrna) and Rutherford County, though governed by the Rutherford County Library Board, and sees more than a half million visitors annually. Linebaugh is located in the heart of Murfreesboro, just opposite the City Hall on the Civic Plaza.
